ANNOUNCEMENTS

The message below from President Hinton was shared with the campus community early this morning and she requested that the message be shared with our broader alumnae/i community as well.

Dear Hollins University Community,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to share Professor Richard Dillard has passed away. Professor Dillard served Hollins for 59 years and became synonymous with our English and Creative Writing program. I know our community will grieve this tremendous loss.

As we learned about his passing late yesterday, we have no additional information at this time. We will keep the community informed as more information becomes available. Please be assured that we will honor Richard’s life, legacy, and all he has done for Hollins University.

Please be present to and supportive of one another as our community grieves.

Kindly,

President Mary Dana Hinton

More to follow from the Class of 1969 email.
